pretty close to what I was looking for by J. Forsyth
I am pretty near sighted, and I was looking for an alarm clock with big numbers. I get pretty tired of adjusting the time on the clock, so this time around I went looking for an atomic clock.

This clock was pretty easy to set up, just put the batteries in, set the time zone, and it does all the rest. It set the time and date automatically.

Now the reason for the 4 out of 5 stars. The clock is battery powered, not a bad thing, for an alarm clock, if you have a power outage, you don’t have to worry about not getting up on time. But, I was looking for a clock that was lit up at night. That way if I woke up for some reason, I could see what time it was, and just go back to sleep if needed.

The clock is back lit, but only when you push the button on the top, too much effort to find the time when I am sleepy.

Disappointing at best by Tim Grantham
I’ll admit from the beginning that the clock I received did not work. Even before that I was disappointed, however. It is smaller than I expected (maybe 4″ x 4″) and it only works on batteries rather than plugging into the wall. The auto setting feature worked but was an hour ahead of the real time. Mine didn’t work so I wasn’t able to trouble shoot why that was or try the alarm.

La Crosse Technology WS-8055U Atomic Alarm Clock with Indoor Temperature and Moon Phase by J. Lanham
I love it! It works perfectly. For once in my life, I know what the ACTUAL time is. I cannot understand why anyone in the USA would ever buy a clock that they have to set themselves.

La Crosse WS-8055U Radio-controlled Alarm Clock by Kilbury Kid
A very stylish, lightweight alarm clock that shows the date and phases of the moon as well as the time in large, digital format. I have only two objections: the phases of the moon appear opposite of what they actually are; that is, the full moon appears black and the new moon appears white. It can be confusing, especially during waxing and waning. The other flaw is the alarm tone; it’s not very loud, which means, I often don’t hear it over the other noises in the bedroom or when my head is buried in a pillow. Otherwise, I like the fact that the time is always correct and because it’s battery operated, I don’t need to worry about power loss causing missed appointments.
