Amazon.com Product Description: Designed for active, outdoor lifestyles, the full-sized Timex T47512 Expedition digital watch also includes a highly accurate digital compass to help keep you on course when hiking the trails or urban spelunking. Compass features include bearings based on 16 cardinal points measured in degrees and a function that enables you to set declination angle based on geography. It has a large, round resin case in khaki and a dark gray bezel marked with compass headings and an interior dial of degree markings. It also features a 100-hour chronograph, alarm, English or metric units, water resistance to 100 meters (330 feet), 4.5-year battery life, and a nylon Fast Wrap strap with Velcro fastener.
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function.

Nice for the price! by James R. McDonald I really wanted a ultra Casio, with the temp, compass, solar and Sofie Monks phone number, but I must must embrace my nature and sometimes just go for the best price and practical use work watch. The compass thing is a bit of a toy, but I’m not dropping two bills on some hubcap I’ll never wear.
Timepiece = Timex by Judith Chapman-Ward Replacing a watch that was damaged. This watch has become a fixture and will satsfy for years to come. Provides all the necessary features, especially the digital compass and indiglo.
Great features for the price, but… by Tim Watkins I received this watch as a Christmas gift and loved it immediately. It has a great feature set for the price range and had everything I wanted (compass, countdown timer, alarm, Indiglo, water resistant). Unfortunately, the numbers began to fade with exposure to direct sunlight. The more sun, the more fading. When I would go back indoors the watch would return to normal. After a few weeks, the numbers were completely faded within 30 seconds of sunlight exposure and could barely be read after 30 minutes of being indoors. I sent the watch back to Timex and they sent me a replacement (all at their expense). The watch worked fine for about 3 weeks and then started having the same problems, plus the night light stopped working. I obtained a return box and will be sending this one back for another replacement. With so many good reviews here, I’m hoping for a “third time’s the charm” situation.
take a lickin and keep on ticken !! by Thomas R. Schwald Haveing had my original expedition for over 10 years.I am quite pleased with my new timex. My first expedition was worn every day to work (construction) and on many ventures into the Arizona desert,UNSTOPPABLE ! My new expedition is a bit larger and the band is more comfortable.Numbers larger and easer to read.It is more comfortable and the compass is RIGHT on.I’m sure in the near future the face will get beat up and it won’t look as pretty. That will just give it the look it needs.I think it’s a great watch.I can’t say enough good things about this watch
